Another bomb threat on flight! London bound Air India plane declares emergency

Air India flight from Mumbai to London was forced to declare an emergency onboard after receiving a bomb threat. This incident is part of a troubling pattern as five Air India flights, along with two Vistara and two IndiGo flights, also received similar threats over the past week, causing serious concern within India's aviation sector.

The wave of bomb threats, now in its fourth consecutive day, has prompted security agencies to spring into action. On Thursday, two international flights—one each from Vistara and IndiGo—became the latest targets of these threats. A Vistara flight bound for Mumbai from Frankfurt and an IndiGo flight operating from Istanbul to Mumbai were both impacted.

The Vistara flight, a Boeing 787 carrying 147 passengers, was subjected to a bomb threat communicated via social media. Upon landing safely at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, the aircraft was immediately directed to an isolation bay, where a full security check was conducted. The airline issued a statement confirming that all customers were safely disembarked and that they were fully cooperating with the authorities to complete the mandatory security checks.

Meanwhile, the IndiGo flight arriving from Istanbul underwent a similar security procedure after receiving a bomb threat. The aircraft was also moved to an isolation bay, where security personnel carried out a comprehensive investigation. In both cases, no suspicious objects were found, but the incidents added to a growing list of aviation threats this week.

Earlier in the week, five Air India flights received bomb threats, triggering emergency responses and heightened security measures at various airports. While these threats have been investigated and no bombs have been found, the recurring nature of these incidents has put the aviation industry on high alert.
