In a tragic incident, a commuter attempted to commit suicide by jumping in front of a Down Line (DN) Metro at Kalighat station around 6:20 PM on Wednesday. The individual’s identity has not yet been released, and their condition remains unknown at the time of reporting.
As a result of the incident, Metro services have been severely disrupted. Truncated services are currently being run between Dakshineswar and Maidan, and between Mahanayak Uttam Kumar and Kavi Subhash stations, causing significant delays for evening commuters.
