Woman stripped naked, beaten in Jalpaiguri; BJP blamed

In a shocking incident that has sparked outrage, a woman was stripped and beaten on the night of Lakshmi Puja in Bahadur Colony, Jalpaiguri Sadar Block. The woman was reportedly attacked by anti-social elements allegedly linked to the BJP, as per accusations from the victim's family. This disturbing event occurred while the entire neighborhood was celebrating the holy occasion of Lakshmi Puja.

Victim’s husband was not home at the time of the attack. According to the family, She was organizing the Lakshmi Puja when a group of alleged BJP supporters entered her home and assaulted her. The attackers allegedly stripped and beat her, demanding that she join their party if she wanted to continue living in the area.

Hearing her screams, neighbors rushed to the house, and she was quickly admitted to the Super Specialty Hospital at Jalpaiguri Medical College for treatment. After the assault, a large crowd gathered on the streets, demanding justice for the horrifying attack. The incident has triggered widespread anger in the local community, with many condemning the violence against the victim and demanding strict action against the perpetrators.

Local Trinamool Congress leaders have expressed their support for the victim, while the victim's family has approached the police, pleading for justice. A significant police force arrived at the scene after the incident to manage the situation and begin an investigation.

However, the Bahadur Gram Panchayat BJP President, Amit Das, has denied the allegations, calling them baseless. He accused the Trinamool Congress of fabricating the incident as part of a political conspiracy, claiming that the victim’s family is involved in drug-related activities, and the assault was a protest by local residents.
