As the festive season of Diwali and Chhath Puja approaches, Northern Railway has stepped up to accommodate the travel needs of passengers with the introduction of special trains connecting New Delhi, Patna, and Chhapra. This initiative aims to ease the travel burden for individuals returning home for the festivals, ensuring that families can celebrate together.
The Vande Bharat Festival Special train (02252) from New Delhi to Patna Junction will operate between October 30 and November 6, 2024. The train is scheduled to depart New Delhi at 8:25 AM and reach Patna Junction by 8:00 PM. This service will run three days a week—on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays—making it a convenient option for travelers.
For those returning, the Vande Bharat Express (02251) from Patna to New Delhi will operate from October 31 to November 7, 2024. It will depart Patna Junction at 7:30 AM, arriving in New Delhi at 7:00 PM. Similar to its counterpart, this train will also run three days a week, specifically on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Mondays.
Additionally, the Lucknow-Chhapra Vande Bharat Express (02270) will run from October 25 to November 8, 2024. This train will leave Lucknow at 2:15 PM and is expected to arrive in Chhapra at 9:30 PM. The train will operate six days a week, excluding Tuesdays, providing ample opportunity for passengers to travel during the festive period.
On the return journey, the Vande Bharat Express (02269) from Chhapra to Lucknow will also run from October 25 to November 8, 2024. This service will depart Chhapra at 11:00 PM and reach Lucknow at 6:30 AM, ensuring that travelers can return promptly after the celebrations.
Moreover, the Tejas Express (02248) will operate between New Delhi and Patna Junction from October 29 to November 5, 2024. It will leave New Delhi at 8:25 AM and arrive in Patna at 8:30 PM. This service will run three days a week—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays—offering another reliable option for festive travelers.
For the return trip, the Tejas Express (02247) will run from Patna to New Delhi between October 30 and November 6, 2024. Departing at 7:30 AM and arriving in New Delhi at 7:35 PM, this train will also operate three days a week—on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
These special trains are a welcome addition for the people of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, who often face challenges securing reservations during peak travel seasons.
