Speeding bus mows down pedestrian at MG Road more, driver flee
In a rare and remarkable occurrence, nine women gave birth to twins within a 24-hour span at Burdwan Medical College and Hospital in Bengal. From 8 AM on Tuesday to 8 AM on Wednesday, these 18 babies—seven boys and 11 girls—were born naturally, with none of the pregnancies involving assisted reproductive technology.
All the mothers and newborns are reportedly in stable condition. However, six of the babies, each weighing around 1.5 kg, are currently under observation in the Sick Neonatal Care Unit (SNCU) due to low birth weight, a precautionary measure to ensure their well-being.
This sudden spike in twin births has created a buzz in the hospital, with the medical staff ensuring round-the-clock care. Dr. Mohammad Asif, who reported the incident, expressed that such a phenomenon is incredibly rare, especially without the use of fertility treatments.
Family members of the mothers are overjoyed, and the hospital's neonatal team remains vigilant, providing specialized care to ensure all babies thrive under their observation.
