A shocking discovery was made early Wednesday morning in Krishnanagar as the half-naked body of a young woman was found near the office of the District Superintendent of Police. The incident has caused widespread panic in the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrampara area, with locals fearing that the woman may have been a victim of brutal violence.
Around 7 am, early morning walkers came across the body, which was lying just behind the Superintendent of Police's office, across from Barwari. Krishnanagar Kotwali police were immediately alerted, and they reached the scene shortly after the body was discovered. The location, near such a prominent administrative office, has only heightened concerns in the community.
Residents suspect foul play, with many claiming that the woman was raped and murdered elsewhere, and her body later dumped in the area. They also believe attempts were made to destroy evidence, as part of the body appeared to have been burned. The grisly nature of the crime has sent shockwaves through the quiet town.
The identity of the young woman remains unknown, though police estimate her age to be between 20 and 22 years. Efforts are underway to determine her identity, as well as the circumstances surrounding her death. Police sources have confirmed that a thorough investigation is being conducted to uncover any clues that might lead to those responsible.
Krishnanagar Police District Additional Superintendent of Police, Sanjay Mit Kumar Makwan, confirmed that law enforcement officials are working diligently to piece together the sequence of events. “The body was recovered from the spot, and we are trying to ascertain the identity of the woman,” he stated. Authorities have also initiated forensic testing to gather further evidence that could help solve the case.
