Businessman Mithun Chakraborty, 35, found murdered at home with hands and feet tied

35-year-old businessman Mithun Chakraborty was found dead in his residence in the Chakshadulla area of Ward No. 14, Buniyadpur Municipality, on Monday morning. The discovery of his body has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting a swift response from law enforcement. Banshihari police station IC Asim Gop, along with Gangarampur sub-divisional police officer Dipanjan Bhattacharya and Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Indrajit Sarkar, arrived at the scene shortly after the report was received.

Mithun's body was subsequently sent to Balurghat District Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death. Initial police findings indicate that Mithun may have been strangled. His hands and feet were bound, and there was cello tape covering his mouth, pointing to a violent struggle before his death. At the time of the incident, he was reportedly alone at home, as his wife and child were at her father’s residence in Hili for the Puja festivities.
