A tragic incident in Farakka, Murshidabad, has shaken the community as a 10-year-old girl was allegedly murdered by her neighbour. The girl, who had recently moved from Delhi with her family for the Durga Puja festival, was lured to the accused's home under the pretext of offering her flowers for the celebration.
On Sunday morning, the girl went out with friends to collect flowers. According to the victim's family, the accused called her to his house, where he allegedly murdered her and concealed her body in a sack. The family claims that the accused fled the scene after the crime.
The horrific discovery of the body caused widespread shock in the area. Police were immediately alerted, and a large force from Farakka police station reached the scene. The girl’s body was recovered and taken to the Beniagram Primary Health Centre, where doctors confirmed that she was brought in dead. The police quickly arrested one suspect, but the investigation is ongoing to determine the full details and motive behind the crime.
The victim's father, devastated by the loss, shared that the family had come to Farakka from Delhi two months ago for the upcoming Durga Puja. He was not at home at the time of the incident and learned about the tragedy over the phone from his wife. "We came here for the puja. No one was home when it happened. My wife called and told me. He killed her and put her in the sack," he said, struggling with his grief.
