Speeding bus mows down pedestrian at MG Road more, driver flee
Ratan Tata’s mortal remains are kept for public viewing today at the NCPA Lawns in Nariman Point, Mumbai, allowing the public to pay their respects to the legendary industrialist. The viewing is open from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. Attendees are requested to enter through Gate 3 and exit via Gate 2. No parking facilities are available at the premises. The final journey will begin at 4 pm, taking Tata’s body to the Worli Crematorium for the last rites.
The NCPA Lawns are under heavy police security, and the roads around Marine Drive, particularly near the Oberoi Hotel, have been cordoned off to manage the large crowd expected. Ratan Tata’s body was transported from his Colaba residence early this morning in a hearse adorned with white flowers, escorted by a police convoy.
People from all walks of life, including Tata employees, gathered to pay tribute. Among the prominent figures who have already paid homage are industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, and Mukesh Ambani. Many more are expected throughout the day. Ratan Tata, who passed away at 86 at Breach Candy Hospital, is being remembered for his contributions to Indian industry, his leadership in expanding the Tata Group globally, and his philanthropic work.
