Thief trapped by housewife in Behala, arrested by police after failed robbery attempt
In preparation for the upcoming Durga Puja, the district administration has taken extensive measures to ensure a peaceful atmosphere, enabling residents to celebrate the festival in harmony and brotherhood. District Magistrate Saurabh Jorwal and Superintendent of Police Swarn Prabhat held a joint meeting to finalize arrangements for maintaining law and order during the festivities.
This year, a total of 819 temporary and 118 permanent locations will host the worship of the goddess. In Motihari Sadar, there are 200 temporary and 18 permanent locations; in Chakia, 180 temporary and 15 permanent; in Pakridayal, 135 temporary and 7 permanent; in Sikrahna, 99 temporary and 7 permanent; in Raxaul sub-division, 121 temporary and 9 permanent; and in Areraj sub-division, 84 temporary and 62 permanent locations will facilitate the celebrations.
To maintain decorum, all puja committees have been instructed not to use DJ music or engage in firecrackers near the pandals. Police forces will be working alongside these committees to manage crowds effectively. Additionally, a Quick Response Team (QRT) has been formed at the district and sub-division levels to monitor the situation closely.
More than 4,500 police personnel, including plainclothes officers, have been deployed to oversee the celebrations. CCTV cameras will be installed to monitor the pandals, and special attention will be given to social media to prevent any disturbances.
In Motihari Sadar alone, 222 designated locations will have magistrates and police on duty, while other sub-divisions like Sikrahna, Pakridayal, Areraj, Chakia, and Raxaul will have dedicated personnel to ensure safety and security throughout the celebrations.
