Junior Doctors, who have been at the forefront of the protest against RG Kar Rape and Murder case, have now announced a hunger strike. This comes after their deadline to the state government of 8:00 pm. Announcing the hunger strike, the medicos said, "We will be back to work but our protest will continue until our demands are met".
A 6-member team will take the stage at Esplanade's Dorina Crossing and will stage the hunger strike. The young medicos even went a step ahead and said that there would be live CCTV coverage all the time to maintain transparency during their hunger strike.
However, among the first 6 to sit on the hunger strike, there is no one from the RG Kar hospital. Meanwhile, traffic movement is disturbed due to the dharna as the protesting medicos have blocked one side of the road. Earlier, they had a heated discussion with the police as well after some materials were blocked by the cops.
