Delhi police has seized over 500 kg of cocaine, valued at approximately Rs.2,000 crore, marking the largest drug bust in the national capital's history. It was uncovered during a raid in South Delhi, where police officials arrested four individuals said to be part of an international drug smuggling syndicate. The authorities conducted the raid based on intelligence reports linking the suspects to a broader network involved in trafficking narcotics into India.
This seizure comes on the heels of a recent arrest involving two Afghan nationals, who were apprehended with 400 grams of heroin and 160 grams of cocaine. These developments highlight a concerning trend of increasing drug trafficking activities in the area, prompting police to intensify their surveillance and intervention efforts.
With the involvement of international syndicates, police are now urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. This operation not only aims to dismantle the local drug networks but also disrupt the international channels that facilitate the flow of drugs into India. The Delhi police have stated that they are committed to tackling drug-related crimes and are prepared to take further action against anyone involved in such illicit activities.
