Thailand announces e-visa for Indians from Jan 1, 60-day exemption to continue
On Friday evening in the Takimari area of Jalpaiguri district, West Bengal, four members of a family lost their lives while attempting to save their beloved cow. The victims—Paresh Das, 60, his wife Deepali, their son Mithun, 30, and their two-year-old grandson—were all electrocuted in a horrifying incident linked to submerged electric wires.
Reports indicate that Mithun was bringing the cow back from the fields when it inadvertently walked into water that had pooled outside their shed, which had become electrified. When Mithun attempted to rescue the animal, he was struck by an electric shock. His screams alerted his parents, Paresh and Deepali, who rushed to help him, only to meet the same tragic fate.
Deepali was with 2 year old grandson, at the time of the incident, and both were also electrocuted, resulting in the devastating loss of the entire family. At the time of the incident, Mithun's wife was not at home, leaving the family vulnerable. Police officials, led by Officer-in-Charge Sandip Dutta from the Bhorer Alo Police Station, arrived at the scene shortly thereafter. The family was transported to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), where doctors pronounced them dead upon arrival.
