Class 2 student murdered in UP's Hathras school in black magic ritual for school's "success"

In Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, a Class 2 student was reportedly murdered as part of a black magic ritual aimed at bringing success to D L Public School at Rasgawan. The tragic event unfolded earlier this week, leading to the arrest of five individuals, including the school's director, Dinesh Baghel, his father Jashodhan Singh, and three teachers: Laxman Singh, Veerpal Singh, and Ramprakash Solanki.

According to police reports, the accused had initially attempted to kill another student, aged 9, on September 6 but failed. The director's family is said to have a belief in black magic, conducting rituals with the help of certain teachers. Items associated with black magic were recovered during the investigation, including a box that authorities linked to the motive behind this heinous crime.

The victim was found unresponsive in the school hostel, where children from Classes 1 to 5 are housed. School authorities initially informed the victim's father, Krishan Kushwaha, that his son had fallen ill and was taken to a hospital. However, when Kushwaha arrived at the school, he could not locate his son, prompting him to alert local police.

Following a manhunt, police discovered the boy's body hidden in Baghel's car, which had been driven around for hours to conceal the crime. Autopsy results confirmed that the child had been strangled to death on the night of the incident. A murder case under BNS Section 103(1) has now been filed against the five accused, shocking the community and raising questions about safety in schools.
