In preparation for the upcoming Sharadotsav celebrations, the electricity department has taken several steps to ensure uninterrupted services. The department has launched a 24-hour control room that will operate throughout Durga Puja until Jagadhatri Puja. Two helpline numbers have been provided for customers to contact the control room directly: 8900793503 and 8900793504.
In addition, the CESC has also issued its control room numbers, 981079666 and 9831083700, to assist residents during the festive period. One of the key features introduced this year is a dedicated WhatsApp service number, 843371912, allowing customers to access multiple services easily.
Through this service, customers can view and download their electricity bills, make payments, and apply for new connections. They will also be able to report any dangerous power lines by sending photos through WhatsApp, ensuring quick response to any safety hazards.
The control room was officially inaugurated on Thursday by Power Minister Arup Biswas, in the presence of CESC officials and the Secretary of the Power Department, Shantanu Basu. The initiative aims to provide smooth and hassle-free services to residents during one of the busiest times of the year, ensuring there are no disruptions to electricity supply during the festivities.
