Janata Dal (United) leader Ashok Chaudhary has been appointed as the National General Secretary of the party ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, scheduled for early next year. The announcement was made by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, underlining Chaudhary’s close association with the CM and his influential role within the state's political framework.
Chaudhary, who currently serves as the Rural Works Department minister in the Bihar government, is considered one of Nitish Kumar’s most trusted aides. His elevation comes at a crucial time as the JD(U) prepares for a challenging electoral battle in Bihar.
Just two days before this announcement, Chaudhary met Nitish Kumar, amidst a controversy triggered by his social media post, which led to speculation about potential discord with the CM. Chaudhary addressed the controversy by posting a photo with Nitish Kumar on social media, captioned with a line from the popular song “Kuch to log kahenge, logo ka kaam hai kehna," indicating his disregard for rumors.
The controversy began with Chaudhary's earlier post on X, where he penned a poem reflecting on various life situations, advising people to "leave" matters that bring discomfort, fueling talks of a potential dig at Kumar. However, Chaudhary downplayed the situation, reaffirming his loyalty to the party and the CM.
