In the monthly session of the corporation, Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim addressed concerns raised by Councilor Mahesh Sharma regarding the condition of numerous dilapidated houses in the Burrabazar area.
Mayor Hakim acknowledged the issue, agreeing that many of these houses are at risk due to a lack of maintenance, posing a potential threat of a major incident.
To address this, the Mayor assured that if a specific complaint is received regarding any dangerous structure, the corporation will take immediate action by issuing a Notice 401.
This notice serves as a formal warning to the property owner, requiring them to either repair or vacate the unsafe building to prevent any accidents.
