BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of jeopardizing Jharkhand's security by allowing Bangladeshi infiltrators to flourish. Speaking at the BJP's 'Parivartan Yatra' in Dhanbad, Adhikari criticized Banerjee for her inaction regarding the Border Security Force (BSF) fencing along the international border with Bangladesh, attributing it to her "appeasement politics."
He stated, "There are 72 places in West Bengal where the Mamata Banerjee government did not provide land to the Border Security Force (BSF) to complete fencing along the international boundary with Bangladesh." He further claimed that due to this negligence, the population of infiltrators in West Bengal has risen to a concerning 35 percent. Adhikari added, "The infiltrators are posing a big threat to Hindu society and tribals in Jharkhand." He noted the importance of a "double engine" government—one that is strong both at the Centre and in the state. "To protect Jharkhand and West Bengal from Bangladeshi infiltrators, the double engine government is required," he declared.
Adhikari cautioned that a return to power by the INDIA bloc would threaten nationalism and the rights of the original inhabitants of Jharkhand. He stated, "If the INDIA bloc returns to power in Jharkhand, there would be a threat to nationalism, Hindu culture, tribal and original inhabitants of the state." He expressed confidence that the people of Jharkhand would support the BJP for development, stating, "There are around 90 lakh Bengali-speaking people in Jharkhand and 90 percent of them would cast their vote on the BJP's symbol of lotus."
As the assembly elections approach, the opposition BJP is actively engaging with voters through six 'Parivartan' processions, which commenced on September 20. These rallies aim to cover 5,400 km across 81 assembly segments in 24 districts and will culminate on October 2, with around 50 national and state-level leaders expected to participate, reinforcing their message to the electorate.
