SSC to publish upper primary panel on September 25

As the upper primary job seekers' movement gained momentum in Karunamayi, the School Service Commission (SSC) made a crucial announcement: the long-awaited panel for upper primary recruitment will be published on September 25. This comes after the Calcutta High Court set a deadline of September 25 for the SSC to initiate the recruitment process, following a 4-week directive issued on August 28.

For nearly a decade, candidates who qualified in the first SLST held in 2016 have been waiting for recruitment. Despite their eligibility, no appointments were made, leading to protests and demands for immediate action. Job seekers have been vocal about the delay, taking to the streets to demand the publication of the panel, which they believe has been unnecessarily stalled despite clear court orders.

Last month, the Division Bench of the Calcutta High Court directed the commission to recruit 14,052 candidates for the Upper Primary (2016) recruitment by November 28. However, job seekers expressed frustration over the lack of visible action by the SSC. Their protests highlighted the urgency of their demands, with many pointing out that the court had given clear instructions, but the SSC appeared slow to comply.

On Monday, September 23, the SSC finally announced that the panel would be released on September 25. This announcement has brought relief to many job aspirants, who now believe that their long 10-year wait for employment is nearing an end. The publication of the panel is expected to pave the way for thousands of candidates to finally secure their jobs.
