A kidnapping and extortion case was reported yesterday at the Garfa Police Station, where kidnappers demanded a ransom of 20 lakhs for the safe return of the victim. The victim was kidnapped from Kolkata, and the case quickly escalated, prompting a major police operation.
Authorities wasted no time in coordinating a combined raid with both Malda Police and Kolkata Police (KP) to locate and rescue the individual. The victim was successfully rescued from Muthabari village in Malda, following swift and efficient action by the joint police teams.
Six individuals involved in the kidnapping were arrested during the operation. Additionally, the vehicle used to carry out the kidnapping was seized by the authorities as part of the investigation. The case has now been officially registered at Kasba Police Station, and further inquiries are underway to uncover additional details.
Police are currently interrogating the arrested individuals to understand the broader network involved in the extortion attempt. The timely intervention of the police forces helped avert a potentially dangerous situation, and the victim is now safely back with their family.
