Speeding bus mows down pedestrian at MG Road more, driver flee
In Saharsa, Bihar, chaos erupted at a government event right after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar left. A crowd looted a biofloc fish tank set up by the fisheries department, taking fish worth about INR 45,000. The disorder began as children and young people jumped into the tank and started fishing with their hands.
Earlier that day, Kumar opened the Maa Vishahari Temple and visited a government exhibition in Amarapur, where different departments showed their projects. Once his helicopter took off, the crowd quickly rushed to the fish tank, ignoring officials trying to manage the situation.
Videos captured the chaos as people scrambled for fish, with some kids even playing in the tank. One attendee, Divyanshu Kumar, said, "I didn’t meet Nitish Kumar, but I got some fish. We were focused on the fish. As soon as he left, we all went to the tank. Today, there will be a fish party in his name."
District Fisheries Officer Subodh Kumar expressed regret over the incident, saying, "We planned a demonstration for the Chief Minister but ended up losing money."
