Empty gas cylinder found on tracks, attempts to derail trains in Uttar Pradesh thwarted

Authorities in Uttar Pradesh recently thwarted an attempt to derail a train when an empty gas cylinder was discovered on the tracks near Prempur Station on September 22. The pilot of a goods train, traveling from Kanpur to Prayagraj, spotted the cylinder around 5:55 AM and quickly applied emergency brakes. This swift action prevented what could have been a catastrophic incident. Following the discovery, railway authorities promptly removed the cylinder and initiated an investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding its placement.

This alarming incident comes on the heels of another close call earlier this month, when an LPG cylinder was placed on the tracks, narrowly avoiding a collision with the Prayagraj-Bhiwani Kalindi Express. The train, traveling at high speed, struck the cylinder but managed to stop without any injuries. These repeated attempts to derail trains have raised serious concerns about security protocols and the effectiveness of current safety measures on the railways.

As investigations continue, railway officials are emphasizing the need for heightened security measures. The repeated attempts to derail trains in the region highlight critical lapses that must be addressed to ensure the safety of passengers and crew members.
