Ahead of Durga Puja, Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has implemented a series of measures to ensure the city is ready for the grand festival. In a high-level meeting held at the KMC headquarters, involving the mayor and officials from Kolkata Police, the Fire Brigade, PWD, and CESC, several key decisions were made to enhance cleanliness and public convenience.
One of the main goals is to have Kolkata’s roads sparkling clean before Mahalaya. To further improve services during Durga Puja, water will be supplied to the city as early as 3 am. Additionally, barcodes will be installed below all advertising hoardings to regulate them more effectively.
Illegal parking will also be closely monitored, with both the corporation and police keeping a watchful eye to ensure smooth traffic flow during the festive season.
Chairmen from all boroughs were present at the meeting, reflecting the city's comprehensive approach to making this Durga Puja a seamless experience for all residents and visitors.
