A one-month-old girl tragically died at Saifai Medical College after her father threw her to the ground during a drunken argument on September 14. The accused, identified as Bablu alias Ranjit Kumar, was arrested following a complaint from his wife, Deepu.
The incident occurred in Chandpura village, Bharthana, where Bablu expressed anger over the birth of his fourth daughter. On the day of the incident, he was intoxicated and engaged in a heated dispute with Deepu. In a fit of rage, he snatched their infant daughter, Tanya, from Deepu’s arms and hurled her to the floor. The infant suffered severe injuries and, unfortunately, succumbed to them during treatment.
Initially, the family claimed that Tanya had fallen during a quarrel between the couple. However, the investigation led by station in-charge Devendra Singh uncovered the truth, revealing that the injuries were consistent with being thrown forcefully. Bablu had two daughters from his first marriage, and after the death of his first wife, he remarried Deepu. Following the post-mortem report and the wife’s complaint, Bablu was apprehended while attempting to flee near Nagla Jalal village.
