Jr Doctors to end 42-day long strike, will partially resume work from Saturday

After a 42-day strike that began on August 9, the West Bengal Junior Doctors Front has announced the partial conclusion of their protest. Starting Saturday, the doctors will resume emergency duties across the state. The protest, which had severely impacted healthcare services, was aimed at addressing concerns over poor infrastructure, safety, and working conditions in state hospitals.

The junior doctors had been staging a dharna in front of the health department office in Kolkata, which will come to an end tomorrow morning. To mark the occasion, the doctors plan to hold a march from the health building to the CGO Complex, where the CBI office is located, highlighting their continued commitment to their demands.

In addition to resuming emergency work, the doctors will also set up medical camps in flood-affected areas to aid those in need. While the strike is officially over, the doctors have vowed to keep pressing for improvements in the state's healthcare system.
