After a five-hour meeting with the West Bengal government at Nabanna, the junior doctors’ strike continues, as no written assurance was provided. Aniket Mahato, one of the representatives, told the press that although they discussed multiple demands, including the removal of the health secretary, hospital security, threat culture, and student council elections, the Chief Secretary only offered verbal assurances.

The doctors expressed frustration with the lack of a signed "minutes" document from the meeting, saying they had expected a written commitment to their demands. The Chief Secretary instead asked them to submit their demands again in draft form via email on Thursday. While the doctors expressed a desire to return to work, they also emphasized that their strike would continue until concrete actions were taken.

Rumelika Kumar, speaking from the protest site, stated that although their demands were verbally accepted during the meeting, the lack of written assurance was disappointing. "We feel unsafe and will continue our strike until our demands are met," she said.

The doctors emphasized that they had hoped for more cooperation and resolution, but the absence of a formal agreement has left them deeply dissatisfied.
