Senior BJP leader and six-time MLA, Anil Vij, has announced his intent to stake a claim for the Chief Minister's post in Haryana if the BJP secures a majority in the upcoming assembly elections. Vij, known for his extensive political career, emphasized that despite his long-standing service, this is the first time he is asking for anything from the party.
He emphasized his seniority within the party and the support he has garnered from the people of Haryana, particularly in Ambala. Vij’s announcement comes after the BJP hinted that the current Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, would retain his position if the party remains in power. However, Vij underscored that based on his seniority and the demands of the public, he believes it is his time to lead.
"If I am appointed as the Chief Minister, I will change the destiny and picture of Haryana," Vij said, promising transformative leadership for the state.
Earlier this year, Vij was left out of the cabinet formed earlier this year after Manohar Lal Khattar was replaced by Saini. His exclusion fueled speculation about his next political move, and now, with the elections approaching, Vij has positioned himself as a strong contender for the leadership.
