A businessman was shot early this morning in Basirhat and has been admitted to Basirhat Super Specialty Hospital. The incident occurred near Pifa School on Basirhat Malanch Road in Pifa Village Panchayat.
According to reports, the businessman, Shahjahan Sheikh Bari, was shot from behind by miscreants riding an Apache motorbike while he was on his way to meet another businessman in Noapara, under the jurisdiction of Hasnabad police station.
The businessman was shot in the stomach and was rushed to the hospital by residents. The shooting has caused significant alarm in the area.
