SC halts mosque survey orders, restricts lower courts in pending cases
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee left Nabanna on Tuesday evening after waiting for the protesting junior doctors who did not respond to the state government's invitation for talks. The government sent an email to the doctors at around 6:10 pm, inviting them for discussions. The email, sent by Health Secretary Narayanswaroop Nigam, sought to address the concerns raised by the junior doctors during their ongoing strike.
Minister of State for Finance, Chandrima Bhattacharya, confirmed that despite the email, the government did not receive a response from the doctors or a delegation representing them until 7:30 pm. Consequently, Mamata Banerjee, who had been waiting at Nabanna to engage in dialogue, decided to leave.
The doctors, who had earlier demanded the resignation of key state health officials, including the Health Secretary, continue to protest over several grievances related to healthcare conditions and the safety of healthcare workers.
