Dr. Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, has been remanded to eight days of CBI custody following his arrest in connection with alleged financial misconduct at the state-run institution. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Dr. Ghosh along with three others involved in the case.
The four accused were presented before a special CBI court in Kolkata on Tuesday, which ordered their custody for further investigation. They are scheduled to appear before the court again on September 10. The other three are Biplab Singha (RG Kar Vendor), Suman Hazra (RG Kar Vendor), and Afsar Ali Khan (Sandip Ghosh's bodyguard)
The case centers around financial irregularities during Dr. Ghosh's tenure at the medical college, prompting the CBI to take action as part of its ongoing probe into corruption within the healthcare sector.
