Allu Arjun gets interim bail by high court in Pushpa 2 stampede case
A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) youth worker and property dealer, Fantush Kumar alias Baunti Singh, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Munger’s Gogachak-Navtolia village on Monday. The incident occurred while the 35-year-old victim was asleep in his shop with his four-year-old son.
Singh, a resident of Tarapur Dhobai locality, was attacked about 1 km from the Tarapur police station. According to police, two assailants fired at Singh from point-blank range. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Witnesses told the police that the assailants fled towards Banka after committing the crime. None of the witnesses could identify the attackers.
Police suspect that old enmity and property disputes may have motivated the murder. Singh, who recently entered the real estate business, was also the town president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, the BJP's youth wing.
An FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered at the Tarapur police station based on statements from Singh’s family. One person has been detained for interrogation.
