Manoj Pant has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of the state. This decision, announced by the Governor, came just 24 hours after Pant was appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary in the Irrigation and Water Resources Department. The sudden appointment has caught many officials off guard, especially as Vivek Kumar had been receiving congratulations throughout the morning, with expectations that he would take on the role.
The appointment follows the recent retirement of Bhagwati Prasad Gopalika, leaving the Chief Secretary position open.
