The West Bengal BJP's women's wing, Mahila Morcha, staged a strong protest on Friday against the alleged rape and murder at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The protesters gathered at Karunamoyee metro station, demanding justice for the victim and calling for the resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Leading the protest, BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul accused the state government and the police of being fearful and unresponsive. "CM Mamata Banerjee and her Police are scared now. People of West Bengal have hit the streets demanding her resignation," she asserted during the protest march.
Agnimitra Paul further criticized the Chief Minister's remarks, claiming that they were "anti-national." She stated, “The way she is saying things is a language of an anti-national. If someone else would have said such things then, a case under UAPA must have been registered.”
As tensions escalated, police intervened and removed the agitating BJP Mahila Morcha workers from the metro station. Despite the police action, the protesters remained resolute, chanting slogans like "We want justice" as they continued their demonstrations.
