Thailand announces e-visa for Indians from Jan 1, 60-day exemption to continue
Assam Chief Minister and Jharkhand BJP’s election in-charge, Himanta Biswa Sarma, alleged that Jharkhand Police has been "snooping" on former state Chief Minister Champai Soren, who is set to join the BJP on August 30. The allegations were made during a press conference held by Sarma in Guwahati on Wednesday.
Sarma claimed that the surveillance had been ongoing for the past 10 days. He stated that Champai Soren, a current Cabinet minister, had filed a complaint, leading the Delhi Police to register a First Information Report (FIR). However, neither Soren nor the Delhi Police have confirmed the filing of the FIR.
During the press conference, which Sarma later shared on X, he alleged that two individuals were caught secretly taking photos of Soren at the hotel where he was staying during his visit to the national capital.
According to Sarma, these individuals were later identified as sub-inspectors from the Jharkhand Police’s Special Branch. The two allegedly posed as journalists before admitting their true identities when confronted by Soren's associates. Sarma further claimed that the two officers were handed over to the Delhi Police, raising questions about the motives behind their actions.
