Violence erupts in Kolkata as Hindu Jagran Manch protest clashes with police; Officer injured
BJP leader Priyangu Pandey has made serious allegations against the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the local police, claiming that his car was attacked and fired upon in Bhatpara, North 24 Parganas, earlier today.
According to Pandey, the incident occurred while he was on his way to visit BJP leader Arjun Singh. He stated that as his vehicle approached a blocked road, about 50-60 people surrounded his car.
"Today, I was going to our leader Arjun Singh's residence. We moved some distance and the road was blocked by a jetting machine from Bhatpara Municipality. The moment our car stopped, around 50-60 people targeted the vehicle. 7 to 8 bombs were thrown at my vehicle and then 6-7 rounds of firing took place. This is a joint conspiracy of TMC and the Police," Pandey alleged.
He further accused the police of being complicit, claiming that they had withdrawn his security before the attack and provided information to his attackers. Meanwhile, Locket Chatterjee says, "Nothing will happen, the more they detain, the more people will join the protest. This is the anger of people and they are on the road. Police can detain people but not to the idea."
