A public disagreement has emerged within the Trinamool Congress (TMC) over the handling of the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital case, in which a young doctor was tragically raped and murdered.
Senior TMC leader Sukhendu Sekhar Roy has called for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to conduct a custodial interrogation of the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and the Police Commissioner to uncover the truth behind the alleged suicide story that initially surfaced.
Roy raised several critical questions, including why the wall of the hall was demolished, who empowered Roy (presumably the suspect) to become so influential, and why a sniffer dog was only brought in three days after the incident. He emphasized that a thorough investigation is necessary to answer these questions and ensure justice.
However, TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh has strongly opposed the idea of questioning the Police Commissioner. Ghosh defended the CP's actions, stating that after being informed, the CP did his best to handle the situation and that the investigation was proceeding in a positive direction. Ghosh expressed his disapproval of Roy's statement, calling it unfortunate, especially since it came from a senior leader within the party.
