Benchmark stock market indices rebounded sharply on Tuesday after crashing in the previous session. The S&P BSE Sensex was up 964.86 points at 79,724.26 at 9:16 am, while the NSE Nifty50 jumped 290.60 points to trade at 24,346.20.
The domestic stock market surged as Asian markets rebounded sharply. The broad-based recovery came after US central bank officials reassured investors, easing nerves following the previous session's brutal sell-off.
Some of the top gainers on the Nifty50 were Tata Motors, ONGC, L&T, Maruti, and Adani Ports. Investors should note that smallcap and midcap stocks also recovered sharply during the session, as volatility fell sharply.
