The Bihar Police have commenced an investigation following a threatening email received by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's office, which claimed that the premises would be bombed. The email, received on July 16, originated from an unidentifiable account purportedly linked to Al-Qaeda. The sender asserted that even the state's special police forces would be unable to prevent the attack.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajeev Mishra confirmed that the case was registered on August 2, 2024, after a preliminary inquiry. "It's an old case... we have registered an FIR on August 2, 2024, after an inquiry," Mishra stated.
The First Information Report (FIR), accessible on the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB) of Bihar Police's website, indicates that the case has been filed against unknown individuals under pertinent sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and the Information Technology (IT) Act.
