Train services on the Sealdah-Bangaon branch faced significant disruptions starting Thursday morning due to signal problems in the Sealdah division, exacerbated by continuous rain since Wednesday. The disruptions caused major inconvenience to daily commuters who rely on this route.
According to reports, no trains departed from Bangaon station towards Sealdah from 7:30 AM for several hours. The service was halted for about two to three hours before resuming, albeit at a slower pace, to ensure safety amid the ongoing weather conditions.
Adding to the travel woes, passengers blocked the railway line in Diamond Harbor early Thursday morning, following a five-hour rail blockade on Wednesday. This second blockade further disrupted train operations on the Diamond Harbor branch, compounding the difficulties for passengers.
