Kendriya Vidyalaya vs Parents row over parking fee in Joka, students forced to walk 700 meters!

Kendriya Vidyalaya within Joka Management, located about 700 meters from Diamond Harbor Road, is facing backlash from parents over its parking fee policy. The school management charges fees for vehicles entering the premises: ₹3,000 for two-wheelers, ₹5,000 for three-wheelers, ₹6,000 for four-wheelers, and ₹12,000 for buses. If guardians choose not to pay, they are instructed to drop their children at the gate, forcing students to walk the remaining distance to school.

Parents have raised concerns about the safety of leaving children at the gate, especially given the recent drowning incident involving a child from another school. They argue that this policy places undue financial burden on them and jeopardizes the safety of their children.

The management’s insistence on collecting fees and the potential danger of students waiting outside the school have sparked significant objections from the community.
