Bombs were recovered from a house in Ekbalpur, Kolkata, following a raid conducted by the police based on information from secret sources. The police from Ekbalpur police station found five bomb cartridges during the raid and have launched an investigation into the matter.
The search operation took place on the roof of a two-story house located at 41A/1/B Karl Marks Sarani. Upon inspection, the investigators discovered seven fresh bombs and cartridges concealed in a black school bag. The circumstances surrounding the presence of these explosives in the heart of Kolkata have raised significant concern among both law enforcement and residents.
The owner of the house expressed his bewilderment over the incident, stating, “I have no idea how the police got the lead or how the bombs ended up on the roof. The police haven’t informed me of anything specific. I have been involved in another legal case since the 1st and have been going to court. Four people have been arrested in connection with this case.”
When asked if someone might have entered his house to plant the bombs, he speculated, "People from outside can come to my house, why can't they come? Company employees live on the first and second floors, laborers also stay here, and shops are rented out on the ground floor. No one entered from the front, someone might have come from the back. I plan to increase CCTV surveillance. If called by the police, I will certainly cooperate." He suggested that the act might have been carried out by anti-social elements.
