SC halts mosque survey orders, restricts lower courts in pending cases
In a recent statement, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Saugata Roy reiterated the party's firm stance against associations with anti-social elements. Roy emphasized that the TMC does not need the support of any such individuals and will not tolerate illegal activities under the Mamata Banerjee government.
A few days ago, while sitting next to Trinamool MLA Madan Mitra, Roy had declared that no major promoter or anti-social element would have any connection with TMC workers. On Sunday, he reiterated this sentiment, stressing that the party does not seek the votes of anti-social elements. Roy issued a stern warning to those involved with such elements, urging them to be cautious or face strict action.
"We do not want the vote of any anti-social element. So I tell those who are working with anti-social elements to be careful. If you do not be careful, strict action will be taken against you. Then do not come to say anything," said Roy.
This statement comes in the wake of controversy surrounding Kamarhati TMC MLA Madan Mitra's son and daughter-in-law, who were seen sharing a stage with North 24 Parganas gangster Jayant Singh who has been the prime accused in many mob lynching cases.
