A fire broke out in the Diamond Harbour local train, creating panic among passengers. The incident happened on Sunday afternoon. According to sources, the local train going from Sealdah to Diamond Harbour reached Subhashgram at around noon on Sunday.
Passengers standing at the station saw flames on the wheels of the train. They asked to stop the train. This was reported to the railway office. Railway officials immediately reached the spot after getting the information.
The initial estimate is that the fire might have broken out in the wheels of the train due to a mechanical fault. The reasons for the fire are being investigated. Due to this, the operation of trains on the Sealdah South route was stopped for some time.
