In a heartbreaking incident in the Phephana police station area of the Ballia district, a school pickup carrying children collided with a parked truck on Saturday morning. The accident resulted in the death of one child and left 14 others injured.
The collision occurred on NH 31 near Kapuri Narayanpur village, where the pickup truck veered into a stationary truck parked on the roadside. The injured children have been taken to the district hospital, where they are receiving medical attention. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed deep sorrow over the incident and has assured support to the family of the deceased student.
Following the incident, senior officials, including the District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP), visited the hospital to review the condition of the injured children. Chief Minister Adityanath has instructed officials to ensure the best possible treatment for the victims.
Ballia District Magistrate Praveen Kumar Lakshkar confirmed that the injured children are receiving medical care, with two being referred to Varanasi for further treatment. The deceased student, Yash Pratap Singh, was identified as the son of Rakesh Singh from Laxmanpur Pipra. The administration is providing all necessary assistance to the bereaved family and ensuring comprehensive care for the injured.
