Radhika Madan addresses 27 year age gap with Akshay Kumar in 'Sarfira'

Radhika Madan, who stars alongside Akshay Kumar in the film Sarfira, recently spoke about the 27-year age gap between them. In an interview with India Today, Radhika shared that viewers are more focused on their "intense chemistry" than the age difference. "Initially, people talked about the age gap when the film was announced and when the trailer came out. But after the release, none of the 42 reviews I read mentioned it. Instead, they all highlighted our chemistry," she said.

Expressing her delight at the positive reception, Radhika added, "All the reviews mentioned our cracking and lovely chemistry. The same people who questioned the age gap after watching the trailer are now praising our on-screen connection."

Radhika explained that the film addresses the age gap thoughtfully. She emphasized that their characters, Veer and Rani, have a deep connection that goes beyond superficial aspects. "The age difference is addressed right from my opening scene. The connection between Veer and Rani is much deeper than just looks or age," she noted.

The actress believes that the story's foundation makes the age gap feel natural. "We focused on showing the deeper bond between our characters. They saw themselves in each other and felt understood, which was the real reason for their attraction," Radhika explained.

Radhika concluded by highlighting the characters' journey. "They fought hard against societal expectations to pursue their dreams. Rani didn't say yes to Veer until she could respect herself and him. It wasn't about how they looked or their earnings," she said, reinforcing the film's message of genuine connection over superficial judgments.
