Indian security forces foiled yet another attempt at infiltration by terrorists in the Battal sector of Jammu & Kashmir. Unfortunately, one soldier was injured on Tuesday during the encounter. The exchange of fire happened during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, and counter operations are currently underway by the armed forces, the Military's White Knight Corps said.
A day ago, in the early hours of Monday, one soldier and a civilian were injured as security forces averted a twin terror attack bids on an Army post and the house of a Village Defence Group (VDG) in the Rajouri district.
The Rajouri attack on Monday was the 14th terror attack in the Jammu region and the Battal attack makes it 15. As many as 10 security personnel and nine pilgrims have been killed, and 58 injured in these attacks. Five terrorists were neutralized by the security forces.
