Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present the Union Budget 2024-25 today laying out the economic priorities of the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Meanwhile, the Indian share market has already started to be impacted by the budget announcement.
The benchmark Nifty opened at 24,568.90, an increase of 0.24% or 59.65 points and the Sensex opened at 80,724.30, an increase of 222.22 points or 0.27%. They ended lower on July 22, with the Sensex closing at 80,502.08, a dip of 0.13% or 102.57 points. The Nifty closed at 24,509.25, a dip of 0.09% or 21.65 points.
Nirmala Sitharaman will be presenting her seventh consecutive Union Budget in a row.
