Trinamool MP from Bardhaman Durgapur Lok Sabha constituency and former cricketer Kirti Azad was seen lambasting an assistant engineer over poor conditions of the roads. The MP was disappointed after seeing the poor condition of the road in the Potna-Pursa gram panchayat area of Galsi.
Several potholes and tearing of the road were visible at the beginning of the rainy season led to the drama between the TMC leader and the assistant engineer who built it. Amid his supporters, Azad picked up a handful of stone chips that were worn off from the road and filled them in the assistant engineer's pocket. He said, "Go show the executive engineer what to do with this stone".
He said that he would complain to the district magistrate against the engineers. His question was, why did the executive engineer not come even though the MP reached out after receiving the complaint? After that, the former cricketer-MP filled stone chips in the jeans pocket of the assistant engineer. Seeing this, people gathered on all sides of the road and clapped for Azad.
