A part of an old building collapsed again in Kolkata. On Friday morning, the upper part of a three-storey building located in Kalighat collapsed. There was a tea shop below this building, where some people were drinking tea. However, those people were saved due to the tin shed there. According to reports, one person suffered minor injuries.
According to eyewitnesses, when the part of the building collapsed, there was a loud sound. The customers of the tea shop and the people nearby got scared by this sound and started running away. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries and there was no danger to anyone's life.
The local administration and police immediately reached the spot and took stock of the situation. The building is being inspected and the safety of other parts is being reviewed. Residents have demanded the administration identify dangerous buildings and take appropriate action so that such accidents can be avoided in the future.
