In a tragic incident in Begusarai, Bihar, Pooja Kumari, a newly married woman, was allegedly killed by her husband Amit Kumar Thakur and his family over a dowry demand of one lakh rupees. The incident occurred in Bakhri Bazaar, Bakhri police station area, where Pooja was strangled to death. The family members of the deceased claim that Amit, along with his mother and two sisters, was responsible for her death. After the incident, the accused fled, leaving Pooja's body in the house.

Pooja Kumari, daughter of Manoj Thakur from Paspura village, was married to Amit Kumar Thakur in December 2018. Initially, the marriage seemed to be going well, but recently, Pooja faced harassment from her husband and in-laws due to their dowry demands. On Sunday night, Pooja's parents received the devastating news of her death. Upon reaching her in-laws' house, they found her body with marks of strangulation and injuries. The police have taken the body into custody, sent it for postmortem, and initiated legal proceedings.
